Chion-in

Chion-in

Chion-in (知恩院): The Grand Head Temple of the Jodo Sect. The temple was built in a place where the founder of the sect, Honen Shonin spent the latter half of his life. The magnificent scale of the Sammon Gate is 24 meters tall and is one of the largest Sammon gates of any existing temple. There is also the Seven Wonders of Chion-in. If you are interested, I recommend you to see it when you go sightseeing. (Details are available on the official website.) The cherry blossoms are beautiful in spring and the autumn leaves are beautiful in autumn, attracting many tourists.
