Kitanotenmangu Baikasai

Kitanotenmangu Baikasai (Plum Blossom Festival)

About 1500 plum trees of 50 kinds related to Michizane Sugawara bloom on the 20,000 square meter grounds and are called "Tenjin-san no Ume"(Tenjin san's plum cherry blossoms). The flowers begin to bloom gradually after the New Year and the best time to see them is from late February to mid-March. There will be stalls on the grounds. On February 25, the Plum Blossom Festival and the Plum Blossom Festival Nodate Grand Tea Ceremony will be held, and you can enjoy Nodate by Geisha and Maiko of Kamishichiken.
