Kiyomizuyaki no Sato Matsuri

Kiyomizuyaki no Sato Matsuri

Kiyomizu-yaki is a representative pottery of Kyoto, and is said to have originated from the fact that there were many kilns in the Gojo-zaka area, including Shimizu Rokubei and Takahashi Michihachi. The production area is located in the Kiyomizu-yaki complex, Gojo-zaka, Imakumano, and Sennyu-ji area. The traditional craftwork designated by the governor of Kyoto (designated as Kyoto-made) is called "Kyo-yaki/ Kiyomizu-yaki". The Kiyomizu-yaki Village Festival is held every year for three days from the third Friday to Sunday in October at the Kiyomizu-yaki complex in Yamashina-ku. Many potteries and artists will set up shop in the Kiyomizu-yaki Complex. Many people from other prefectures come to this festival and it is said that tens of thousands of people come to this festival every year. You may find your favorite tableware that will give you a kick in the pants!
