Mimurotoji Hydrangea Garden

The hydrangea garden that is held at Mimuroto-ji Temple in Uji City from early June to early July every year is famous for its 20,000 hydrangeas that bloom. The lotus starts to bloom in early July, so if the timing is right. You may be able to enjoy both hydrangea and lotus. The hydrangea garden is also illuminated from 19 pm to 21 pm on Saturdays and Sundays from mid to late June (Please check the date and time on the official website.). In addition to hydrangeas, Mimuroto-ji Temple is also known as the Temple of Flowers, with its seasonal attractions of azaleas in spring, lotus in early summer and autumn leaves in autumn.

There are about 20,000 hydrangea plants and about 50 kinds of hydrangea in bloom.
From July to August, the temple grounds are beautifully decorated with about 100 kinds of lotus.
