Kyoto city KYOCERA Museum

Located near Okazaki Park, Heian-jingu Shrine and Kyoto City Zoo, Kyoto Municipal Kyocera Museum of Art was opened in 1933 as a "Dairei Memorial Kyoto Art Museum" to commemorate the coronation ceremony, with donations from Kansai business, art and citizens. Renovated and reopened in March 2020 this year, "Kyocera Museum of Art, Kyoto" has its name derived from a 50 year agreement under which Kyocera Corporation donated approximately 5 billion yen for a project to renovate the Kyoto Municipal Museum of Art and changed its common name to "Kyocera Museum of Art, Kyoto".
