Nijo Castle

Nijo Castle

It is a flat castle built during the Edo period, and the existing Nijo Castle was built by Ieyasu Tokugawa and later became the Nijo Imperial Palace under the jurisdiction of the Imperial Household Agency. The castle tower was destroyed by a lightning strike in 1750 and was not rebuilt. As of 2020, Honmaru is now repairing and can not see, but Ninomaru Goten can be seen. Many people visit during the cherry blossoms in spring and the autumn leaves in autumn.
