Ninna-ji (仁和寺) was founded in Ninna 4 (888), has a long history, and the low Omuro cherry trees planted at the same time bloom beautifully, making it a popular cherry blossom spot. The history of Ninna-ji Temple began in 886, the late Heian period, at the imperial order of Emperor Koko, who passed away in 887 before the temple was completed by Emperor Uda. The palace was destroyed by fire in 1887 but was rebuilt in the Taisho period. It was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.
