The formal name of Ginkaku-ji Temple(銀閣寺) is Jisho-ji Temple (慈照寺), a rokaku building constructed by Yoshimasa Ashikaga, the eighth shogun of the Muromachi bakufu (Kinkaku), imitating the reliquary hall of Rokuon-ji Temple. It is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a calm temple, which is the opposite of Kinkakuji, and you can see Ginkakuji from above from the observatory in the precincts. It's close to the entrance of Philosopher's Walk, so you can go sightseeing with it.
