Sanjusangen-do Temple(Renge O-in)

The formal name of Sanjusangen-do(三十三間堂) is Rengeo-in (蓮華王院). The 1001 life-size statues of Senju Kannon stand side by side, and the main hall is a historic temple built over 750 years ago with a quake-absorbing structure that is said to have been rebuilt in 1266. The spring of crying at night which is said to cure crying at night of children is also famous.

The hall is very large and you can feel its size when you see it up close.

[By Bus] Bus No.100, 206 and 208 “Hakubutsukan Sanjusangendo-mae” bus stop. Get off about 1 minutes on foot from bus stop.
