Sanzenin Temple
Sanzenin Temple
Sanzenin Temple (三千院) is located in a rich natural mountain village to the north of Kyoto. It used to be known as a place where aristocrats and Buddhist practitioners lived in seclusion. It has a long history, starting in the 8th century when Saicho built a temple under a big tree in Yamanashi, Toto Minamidani of Mt. Hiei. After several relocations since then, the temple was relocated to its current location in 1871 and the names "3000 temples" and "3000 Temple Monzeki" have been used since 1871. It seems to be used. The grounds are large, and from the guest hall you can enjoy the Chisen Kanshoshiki Teien "Juheki-en Garden and Arisei-en Garden". From the middle of June, you can enjoy around 1000 hydrangeas in the hydrangeas garden. On the south side of Ojo Gokuraku-in, beside Benten Pond, there are cute Warabe Jizo here and there, and you will be healed if you look at them.
