Tenjin Market

Tenjin Market

Tenjin Ichi (Tenjin Market) is called Tenjin-san in the local area of Kyoto.Tenjin-san is the festival day of Kitano Tenmangu Shrine in the Rakunan area, which is held on the 25th of each month. It was named after SUGAWARA no Michizane's birthday on June 25 and his death on February 25. The street stalls are open from around 6 AM to around 21 o'clock. From sunset, the precincts are lit up! Also, the beginning of the year is called Hatsu Tenjin in January, and the ending of the year is called Shimai Tenjin in December. Locally, it is said that if it is fine for Kobo-san, which is held on the 21st of every month at Toji temple, it will rain for Tenjin-san, and if either side is fine, it will rain. There are many shops such as antiques, sundries, crafts and food, and it is very crowded. I think it will be fun for those who like antiques. This is it! You might find something like that!?
